Love the idea of a simmer pot! Sounds much better than my attempts at spritzing orange peel haphazardly around the kitchen... Great plans, have a lovely December, Jude.

Thank you, you too. First Sunday of Advent tomorrow when I really feel Christmas starts! The simmer pots are great, gently scenting the house, pop anything that smells lovely in, my suggestions are only a guide. I’ve been doing them for at least twenty years (I think I originally saw some in a Martha Stewart Magazine!) Merry Christmas xx

I love your table settings Jude particularly the Spode & Waterford glass. My late mum was a huge fan of the crystal, and I have many of her pieces. I think I recognise your champagne flutes as the more modern 'Millennium' range, as that came out when I was living in Dublin in the late 90s, and I purchased a set for a wedding gift for friends, whilst coveting them myself!

Thank you for the book recommendations, I don't have the River Cottage one, which is a definite oversight on my part as I have several of HFW books. Happy December!

Thank you Sara.

Yes the glasses are the Millennium range, we were given a pair and then I proceeded to collect them, I do love Waterford.

The River Cottage book is super, I now make the Quincemas cake for December snacking (it prevents my husband attempting to eat the Christmas cake before Christmas). Merry Christmas xx
