So glad I have finally caught up with your newsletter Judith. Your fish plate and the accompanying knife and fork are adorable. Those langoustines look delicious.

I hope you are enjoying Brittany - there’s been some lovely sunny weather. We will be back in Wissant for Easter.

I love all of this and by coincidence, was also going to read Enchanted April this month. Where do you buy the beeswax from for the polish? This is what always stumps me when I see recipes for making polish x

Thank you Kate, isn’t it funny how often there’s a book you’ve wanted to read for absolutely years and simply never get around to it? This is the year for The Enchanted April, we’ll have to compare notes! I buy the beeswax from the local honey shop here in Plouescat (the next commune along the coast) some of their hives are in a field nearby, I love to imagine that a bee, who has contributed to their fabulous Miele au Bord de Mer, may have been sampling the lavender in my garden. The beeswax is a by-product and very inexpensive. There are so many local producers nowadays, often someone with a few hives at an allotment, maybe there are hives at Kew? . I would suggest you try and find someone local, if not I have plenty and can give you some once I’m home in May. Xx

It would have been my mother's birthday today (named April); tinged with emotion I happened across Enchanted April just after she died last Autumn. I feel a lot of 'sameness' on your lists. I hope you are enjoying an early spring. The Outer Hebrides has been stunning over the last few days.
