Love the look of your lavender sugar, I must try this. I always put any used vanilla pods in my jar of caster sugar, which imparts a deliciously subtle infusion, but I think now I will need two jars: one for vanilla, one for lavender.
I have vanilla too, if you make lavender remember a little goes a long way, I tend to mix it with vanilla, so shortbread and cakes are not overwhelming lavender flavoured.
Beautiful photos Judith. Plenty of produce to cook and eat. My mother loved Georgette Heyer. We hope to visit Donegal this month to explore the beautiful beaches there. A long drive from Kerry but we will pace ourselves 😁 🚗 ⛱️

Thank you for the idea of making lavender sugar. I'm going to start the "confiture" making season when the apples 🍎🍏are ripe, because I have some ancient french recipes for delicious "confitures de pommes". I prefer the one with ginger 🫚
Don't worry about the bonjour/bonsoir mix. I'm living in Brittany for nearly 6 years now and there are different explanations. Some start to say "bonsoir" at 6pm, some when they're ready for dinner 🍽️ or entering a pub 🍻 after work.

A quieter month here I hope... I like being home whilst most other people away, it's like a holiday in itself.
I read several of the Little House on the Prairie books at school but haven't watched the new series, I'm not sure I'd watch it now but I did love the books.
I remember reading that Anne Sebba book about Laura Ashley from the library many moons ago. I know her now as the writer of biography of Wallis Simpson and a wonderful book about the Women of Paris during WW2, much recommended.

Donegal is beautiful. My husband is from Derry, over the years we’ve been there quite often.
